At Democracy For All, we are focused on breaking down barriers to participation by providing trusted information, expanding access to voting, and ensuring every eligible Michigan voter can make their voice heard in the 2025 municipal elections.
This year, Michiganders will head to the polls to elect a new governor, secretary of state, attorney general, state representatives, state senators, and a new U.S. senator — decisions that will have a direct impact on local issues. Through on-the-ground organizing, digital outreach, and community partnerships, we’re working to empower Michigan voters with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to make their voices heard at the ballot box in 2025.

Our wins
Empowering Michiganders to make their voices heard
In 2025, we expanded our work to help voters understand their options, make voting plans, and participate in local elections. This work was focused on communities with municipal elections and historically under-engaged voting bases across Detroit, Hamtramck, Highland Park, and Pontiac.
12,951 voter calls and 358,105 texts sent
760+ voter plans confirmed
17 candidate forums and community events held
75+ partnerships with local organizations
25 trained poll challengers and 47 rides to the polls provided
195 personal stories collected, including 135 from Detroit high school students
Because we engaged voters directly, Michiganders were better prepared to make their voices heard. Our work directly contributed to Detroit achieving its highest municipal election turnout since 2017.
We also invested in the next generation of democracy leaders by training youth and community organizers, preparing them to engage voters and strengthen civic participation far into the future.
